Masterson’s Tavern , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my latest trip at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I found behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .
The Condition of the Premises : Unhygienic and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I stepped inside , it was evident that upkeep was not a priority at this bar . The surfaces were tacky , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and dirty bathrooms polluted the entire establishment . Emitting a scent of a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and a sickly smell. The serving zone , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and refuse that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The bathroom was in even more deplorable shape — spilling over , with a snapped lever and walls stained in what I can only assume was feces.

During my time there, I noticed how tense several female guests seemed around Cornwell. As I dug deeper , I was alarmed to find allegations against him involving inappropriate advances, with multiple women accusing him of sending unsolicited explicit content . Described as excessively forward and violating, his behavior has created an intimidating space for women who frequent Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often felt more like that of a sweating bar mastersons predator than a friendly owner .
